How to Clean Stains From Silk Furniture Upholstery

It is important to keep in mind that when cleaning silk furniture upholstery you need to test the cleaning solution on a small hidden piece of the fabrics to make sure it does not spot or fade. Avoid using bleach or any bleach based products and harsh detergent on silk fabrics, because they could make the colours fade.
To create the cleaning solution use 2 tablespoons of non-alkaline mild detergent or baby shampoo and 1 gallon warm water and mix them together in a bucket.
Use a clean soft piece of cloth or sponge to dip into the solution. Wring it out to remove most of the water and gently dab the stained area of the solution. Start from the edges of the stain and slowly move to the centre of the area. If necessary rinse the cloth again in the cleaning agent.
Fill in another bucket with clean cool water – approximately 1 gallon water and add 2 tablespoons of white vinegar.
Use another clean piece of cloth and dip it into the water-vinegar cleaning mixture. Wring the cloth out again to remove most of the moisture and bot the stained area to remove any remaining soap. You may need to repeat this action several times and rinse the cloth into the bucket.
