How to Remove Stains from Marble

A nasty stain can easily ruin the beauty of your marble surface. That's why, it is advisable to wipe away any spills from marble as soon as possible before they turn into stains. Keep in mind that some stains would be difficult to remove because of the porous nature of the marble, but you will still be able to remove them as long as you stick to the tips below.

Instructions

  1. Use a soft sponge to clean the marble. Dampen the sponge in lukewarm water and wring out the excess moisture, so the sponge is barely wet. Rub the marble, then use a soft cloth to dry the surface.
  2. If the stain is still visible, make a poultice by mixing powdered whiting and hydrogen peroxide. Then, add some stain remover to the mixture and stir until a consistency of peanut butter forms. An alternative poultice is a paper soaked in stain-removing agent.
  3. Moisten the stained area with distilled water to fill the porous of the marble. Then, spread the poultice over the stain. Place a plastic wrap over the stain and tape its edges to seal the poultice over the affected surface.
  4. Wait for the poultice to dry completely, as advised by cleaners Raynes Park, so it can lift the stain from the marble.
  5. Rinse the stained area with water to remove the poultice, then wipe dry with a soft cloth. If the stain is still visible, apply the poultice again.

Use a small amount of borax to clean very dirty marble. Rub the marble surface with a sponge slightly moisten with borax, then rinse with lukewarm water.
If you cannot remove some stain from your marble, consider calling cleaners Regent's Park. These professional would be glad to provide any information that can help you to remove the stain.
