The Smelliest Man in the World

Kailash Singh may claim to be the man with the worst smell in the world.He haven’t bath, either cut his hair, since 1974. This is because after a while of his wedding a priest have guaranteed him that in this way he will have a son and a heir. However, it seems that the religious guidelines didn’t work. Kailash have 7 daughters and the youngest of them is 16 years old.

Singh lives in a small village, called Chatav, near the Indian holy city of Varanasi. He is taking care of his cows during the hot days, but no matter of that the one “cleaning” that the 65-year-old man lets himself do is “fire bathing” every evening. This ritual consists of smoking marijuana, praying to Shiva and dancing around a fire.

His family admits that they have tried to push him into a river with force but Kailash ran away and escaped. They have been trying to make him take a shower multiple times but without any results.

He says that he would rather die, than bathing himself and he will change his mind only if a son comes up. This have been continuing for so many years that we have already got used to it. - says his wife Kalavati Devi, who is 60 years old. She even stopped sleeping with him trying to make him take a bath, but it didn’t work.

Kailash Singh admits that his neighbours laugh at him but he follows God’s will. The only contact he has with water is washing his mouth and hands.

What I think about that man is that if he gets the desired son, he will need the help of Islington cleaners to clean himself.
