5 Fantastic Uses of Baking Soda

Sodium Bicarbonate or baking soda, as we call it in the everyday life, is a product that has many uses. We mainly use it in the kitchen for cooking, but it can be used for other purposes, too. Read on to learn more about the use of sodium bicarbonate.

• You can prepare toothpaste by mixing baking soda and 3 percent hydrogen peroxide. This is an alternative of a commercial non-fluoride toothpaste, it can be used for whitening. If you don't have the patience to deal with domestic chemistry, you can simply dip your toothbrush with toothpaste into bicarbonate of soda for a better whitening effect.
• Silver jewellery polisher – ask any cleaner London and he'll tell you that the best way to clean silver jewellery is with a paste made of three parts sodium bicarbonate and one part water. Rub the paste onto the silver with a clean sponge or cloth and rinse afterwards. Leave the jewellery to dry and they will be as shiny as new.
• If you prepare a paste of baking soda and vinegar, you will get a wonderful oven cleaner. Spread the paste into the oven, leave it to dry for an hour, and scrape with a spatula. All baked-on food stains will be removed with the paste.
• Put some baking soda on a damp sponge to clean your microwave oven.
• If your fridge smells bad, remove the source of the odour, and put an open box of bread soda in the appliance. The bicarb will absorb the smell and you refrigerator will be fresh again.
