How to Remove Stains from a Sofa

Sofas are subjected to a daily use which makes them very susceptible to stains. An accidentally spilled juice or food will leave a stain that can be very difficult to remove mainly because most cushion covers and other sofa's surfaces cannot be laundered. However, you will be able to remove most stains from your sofa with some elbow grease and the right cleaning technique.

Instructions
  1. Determine the areas affected by the stain and whether you can access the back of the stain. If the stain is on a sofa cushion then you may be able to remove the cover and reach the backside of the fabric.
  2. If you have access to the backside of the fabric, place a folded in four microfiber towel behind the stain, otherwise proceed with the instructions.
  3. Spray a commercial stain remover over the stained area and let it soak into the stain for around two minutes, as advised by cleaners Battersea. If you have placed a towel behind the fabric don't worry about how much cleaner you are applying. If not, then use just as much as needed to wet the stain.
  4. Blot at the problematic area with a clean microfiber towel to lift the stain up into the towel. Reapply stain remover if the area becomes dry and continue blotting until the stain disappears.
Tough stains will take more efforts but you don't have to despair because sooner or later the stain will be gone and your sofa will be as presentable as it was before the appearance of the spot. However, if you cannot deal with some stubborn stain, you can always turn to cleaners Battersea for help.
